GLADfresh will return again for August 2010 – and as we enter the final weeks before its unwrapped on August 6th (First Friday) we want YOU to become a part of it!

Come, learn and create part of the installation piece that will be unveiled at August 2010 First Friday!

Workshops to be held from 6pm to 10pm the last three Mondays of July (July 12th / July 19th / July 26th).

It’s about taking down the “metaphoric walls” which hold up the glass ceiling that have prevented so many from reaching the top. Throughout a male dominated Euro-Centric Art History, many marginalized artists  who were/are prevented the right to be included…in fact, many have been left out of history & it’s text books. THE GLADfresh MANTRA is one that is “clear” on this “leftover history”; it accepts and acknowledges the walls are a reality for many: 1. Racism 2. Classism 3. Sexism & the last but not the least( because it allows the other three to form the box to contain “other” in)…THAT 4th WALL IS: FEAR!

In the 21st Century we are “CLEAR” as to who, what, why, when, and where people were left out…it doesn’t mean they aren’t worthy LEFTOVERS!!! Beneath all the wrap there really is something worth savoring!!!So KEEP WRAPPING -word
