First Friday: Benjamin Adcroft, Scranton Paintings (August 2010-September 2011)

The Vintage Theater is proud to present Benjamin Adcroft as the featured artist for the month of March 2012. An incredible collection of select works he created between August 2010 and September 2011 will remain on display throughout the month of March!

Born and raised in Scranton, Benjamin received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City (the city in which he currently lives and works). In addition to receiving the 2006 Michelangelo Amico Scholarship, Benjamin has also been honored with the 2010 Alumni Scholarship as well as the Rhodes Family Award (both by the School of Visual Arts). His work has been featured at various locales throughout the city (such as the Theatre Lab and SVA/SVA Westside galleries) and has seen his works published by Discover magazine both in 2007 and 2008.Benjamin has also recently served as the illustrator for Kevin Adcroft’s charming book “101 Ways to Survive A Broken Heart” (author and copies of the book will be available during the opening reception)!

It is the view of the theater and its directors that Benjamin’s talent and passion for the arts is only surpassed by the humility and sincere appreciation he extends to all patrons and fellow artists.

The exhibit will open on March 2nd in conjunction with the First Friday art walk. The exhibit will run until March 31st. The opening reception will be held between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm – complimentary refreshments will be offered – as always First Friday is open & free for all!
