Songwriters Salon

Dedicated to the cultivation and exhibition of regional artists and their original works The Vintage is proud to host its first – Songwriters Salon.
This intimate night of “broken down” acoustic performances will feature various musicians and their original works. Songwriters will share their stories and what inspires them – giving the audience a better connection to these artists!

Featuring…Rachel Clark, Edward Cuozzo, Abby Million, Chris Frasco and Molly Bridger

First Friday: Inside For Details


 

 

The Vintage Theater and the Independent Artists Collective (IAC) are proud present Inside For Details, a visual and performing arts exhibit dedicated to the process and presentation of various mediums. Over a dozen individual artists will create new works as well as showcase their completed pieces in their respective fields of choice. The opening exhibit will occur in conjunction with Scranton’s First Friday on February 3rd 2012.
The Vintage Theater intends for this exhibit to demonstrate its goal of furthering patron participation in its First Friday events. The theater is striving to develop better relationships between artists and the public. Helping art appreciators grow into active members of the artistic community will further their own understanding and reinforce their vital role in the success of the artists career.
The reception and live work creations will be on Feb. 3rd from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Live performance art pieces will begin 9:00 pm

The exhibit will remain on display throughout the month of February and can be seen during the theaters normal gallery hours (Wednesday,  6:00 pm to midnight & Thursday – Saturday, noon to 6:00 pm)

February 2012 Exhbit: Inside For Details

There is plenty of exciting projects in the works and we are thrilled to begin our 2012 visual exhibit/programming season with an incredible show brought about by an exciting partnership with the IAC (Independent Artists Collective)!

The exhibit is entitled Inside For Details, and it focuses on not only the presentation but the process of various art mediums/styles. During the opening reception (February 3rd 2012, starting at 6:00 pm) the artists established pieces will not only be on display, but they will be creating new pieces live in full view and inspection of the public. We hope to engage our patrons and spark discussion and even perhaps inspiration!

Occupy Benefit and Awards Show

Occupy Scranton will host a benefit concert and awards show at The Vintage Theater on January 13th 2012! The event starts at seven o’clock!

Tickets are $5.00 to $10.00 at the door

Two hilarious improvisational comedy groups join forces for one night of laughs! Please come and enjoy the performance stylings of  both Unorganized Business and Here We Are In Spain! Be sure to arrive early for a fantastic reception of light fare and drinks!

Open Improv Rehersal

Ever want to give improvisational comedy (like what you may have seen on Whose Line Is It Anyway?) a try or learn more about it? Than this open rehearsal is for you!

The super energetic and (at times) super funny local company Unorganized Business Ensemble invites you to attend a free open rehearsal! You will be able to offer your suggestions, constructive criticism, learn fundamental techniques and even give it a try!

King Django, Thee Snails, The Keystone Ska Exchange

The Vintage Theater invites you to one of the best ska shows of the season!

A seminal force in the American ska & reggae scene, King Django has made his name internationally as a bandleader, singer, songwriter, arranger, instrumentalist (trombone, ukulele, harmonica, melodica, etc.), Jamaican-Style ragamuffin MC, producer, studio engineer and label owner (Stubborn Records). Django has been instrumental in showcasing talent in the ska and reggae scene for many years – and he will soon add The Vintage Theater to his long list of featured venues!

King Django will perform with Thee Snails and The Keystone Ska Exchange!
